Complex Regional Pain Syndrome

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) is a chronic pain condition usually in the arm, leg, hand or foot after an injury to that area.  CRPS is believed to be caused by a damaged or malfunctioning nerve that accepts signals from the brain and spinal cord. Symptoms include increased pain, reduced blood flow, skin discoloration and swelling. Sensitivity can also increase in the affected area.
